Founded in 2018 in Lugano, Blockchain District SA was established as an innovation platform dedicated to the development, consulting, and enhancement of emerging technologies. In a European landscape often slow to adapt to change, the company has positioned itself as an independent engine for research and development, aiming to launch high-impact and potentially disruptive projects into the market.
Over time, Blockchain District has evolved into an open and multidisciplinary laboratory where advanced technologies are tested, developed, and brought to market. The company’s activities are structured around three main areas:
- Research & Development: Creation of proprietary solutions in high-tech fields such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, edge computing, and embedded systems.
- Strategic and Technological Consulting: Support for businesses, startups, and institutions in adopting and integrating emerging technologies.
- Go-to-Market for Innovative Projects: Internal incubation and market launch of initiatives with scalable business models, strong intellectual property components, and long-term vision.
The sectors of focus include blockchain, AI, hardware/software, cybersecurity, data certification, and environmental sustainability.
To date, Blockchain District has conceived and launched three active projects:
- Stardome: A platform for data certification and notarization via satellite, with industrial and institutional applications.
- Pragmatica Ambientale: A system for tracking and certifying environmental interventions for ecological transition and sustainable finance.
- TTS – Tree Tech Sense: An advanced system for monitoring trees and shrubs, based on sensors and predictive artificial intelligence, designed to improve urban green management and environmental risk prevention.
Headquartered in Switzerland but with an international outlook, Blockchain District promotes a model based on internal intellectual property, the creation of tangible value, and a select but highly competent network of professionals and partners.
